Is The Word Live free?
Yes — completely, and permanently. No ads, no subscriptions, no paid tier. The app costs nothing and always will.
Do I need an account?
No, but it’s helpful to use the app to its fullest, along with saving your preferences and favorite posts. You can read the feed without signing in. An account only adds syncing your followed subscriptions across devices and keeping your saved moments — and signing in is a one-time email link, so there’s no password to keep.
How do I install the app?
Open app.thewordlive.com in your phone’s browser. On an iPhone (Safari): tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. On Android (Chrome): tap the menu, then Add to Home screen. On a computer (Chrome or Edge): click the install icon in the address bar. Full walkthrough on the App page.
Why isn’t the app in the App Store or Google Play?
Because the app doesn’t need to be. The Word Live is a web app (PWA) you add straight from your browser — that’s why it’s instant, always up to date, and free of store fees. Once it’s on your home screen it behaves just like a store app.
How do I stop following a reading or subscription?
In the app, open the Subscriptions list in the left sidebar and uncheck it. Your feed updates right away. No confirmation, no hassle. Re-enable it anytime by just re-checking the box.
How do I delete my account and data?
In the app, go to the bottom of the Settings page and click the Delete Account button.
